My 4th-grade son has been getting plenty of review using One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice from Channie’s Visual Handwriting & Math workbooks. This was provided to our family as part of the Homeschool Review Crew. As always, all opinions are our own.

Math is a subject area where regular practice is the key to success. Basic facts need to be memorized for quick recall so the more complicated problems are less intimidating.

Yet, some people have moved away from the use of drill sheets. Maybe it is out of their own childhood experience where fear was involved. Especially if a teacher timed your work and issued a grade.

However, this style of practice is still important.

In our house, we have gone through pockets of drill and times of not doing it.

Yet, I can say that the boys who spent time with pencil and paper doing this style of practice have a better command of those basic math facts.

About Channie’s One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice

Front Cover of One Page A Day 2 Digit Multiplication Practice

This workbook is solely focused on helping students improve their multiplication skills. The target grade range is 3rd through 5th grade. For skill sets, the student needs to have moved into 2 digit multiplication in their regular math program.

Problems begin with a refresher of single-digit multiplication. Then the rest of the book has a variety of problems for 2 digit multiplication.

The layout of the problems is visually appealing and helps key in the student when it comes to the need to carry-over, etc. Visual blocking is something Channie’s does well and has used in their handwriting books. (You can read our review of their Easy Peasy Alphabet.)

Pages are printed double-sided with the binding at the top. You can remove sheets to be completed which is a bonus for parents not wanting a student to look ahead.

Answers are found at the back of the book. If you need them.

Our Thoughts on Channie’s for Elementary School Math

Thumbs up from this homeschool mama.

The book provides a lot of practice for your student.

And to complete a page takes just minutes each day.

By the time they are done with the book, they should feel confident in their multiplication skills.

While I could make my own worksheets, I know from past experiences that the cost of this workbook is worth the savings of my time and the cost to print all those sheets.

Did my son love using this?

Probably not.

He didn’t mind doing the work as it was quick to do. And it helped to reinforce his multiplication skills making his regular math work easier to complete.

But, as you can see from one of the pages, he didn’t always do a great job. Plus, he likes doing work on a dry erase board and then copying over to his math page.
